The "Patient Cost Estimator - Self Pay - Disclaimer Displayed on Printed Estimate" company setting allows a practice to configure the disclaimer for Cost Estimates to automatically detect when the patient is not insured (self-pay) and pull the correct disclaimer accordingly. You can use the default disclaimer, or create your own (up to 1000 characters).
Default Value: "This Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. It is an estimate of the expected charges for the items and services reasonably anticipated for your health care needs based on information known at the time the estimate was created. Actual charges may differ if your medical needs or the services provided change.If you are billed at least $400 more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through the federal Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution process.For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate and the dispute resolution process, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-888-5555."
Options:
- Off (no message in the value field) - no disclaimer is displayed in the footer of a cost estimate for Self Pay patients.
- On (a message is in the value field) - a disclaimer message is displayed in the footer of a cost estimate for Self Pay patients.
