The "Patient Cost Estimator - Insurance - Disclaimer Displayed on Printed Estimate" company setting allows a practice to configure the disclaimer for Cost Estimates to automatically detect when the patient is insured (not self-pay) and pull the correct disclaimer accordingly. You can use the default disclaimer, or create your own (up to 1000 characters).
Default Value: "This estimate is based on the information available at the time it was prepared, including the patient's insurance benefits as reported by the health plan. It is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Final patient responsibility will be determined after the claim is processed by the insurance carrier. Changes in benefits, eligibility, medical necessity, services performed, or provider participation may affect the final amount owed."
Options:
- Off (no message in the value field) - no disclaimer is displayed in the footer of a cost estimate for Insured Patients.
- On (a message is in the value field) - a disclaimer message is displayed in the footer of a cost estimate for Insured patients.
