The Iguana Hl7 Interface Engine is a third-party tool that is installed on a computer/server at the office. This tool allows our application to interface with on-site devices that can send or receive HL7 files. This tool runs as a service on the PC and can place files into a folder, pick files up from a folder, send files over TCP/IP, and receive files via TCP/IP. The data is sent to/from the application via web-services.

A Channel in Iguana refers to a specific interface that is configured. In order for the interface to work, the channel must be running. Sometimes, a channel may stop. In this case, a user at the practice that has been provided with a login to Iguana must start the channel back up.

The Iguana Interface Engine runs in the background on the computer as a Service. In some scenarios, the service must be manually stopped or manually started if a major issues occurs on the PC.
Using the Services Manager is the “standard” way to manage Windows services.
This works on Windows 10 and Windows 7. Alternatively you can run services.msc.
The Status column changes from Running to blank or Stopped to Running.
Error getting startup status: 0 : error -
This error will sometimes appear when the Iguana INTERFACE Engine is unable to start successfully. This usually happens when some of the startup files have been corrupted.
