In 2023, we introduced a modernized and unified patient header across all OfficeEMR portals, including Billing, eDocuments, EMR, and iScheduler. This update was designed to streamline the code for load efficiency, enhancement efficiency, and to deliver a consistent user experience throughout OfficeEMR. Key improvements include enhanced data display, clickable hyperlinks, and actionable elements—such as enabling phone numbers to launch soft-phone dialing and chart numbers to open the Patient Setup screen.
Furthermore, the new header was foundational to the implementation of our Patient Flags feature that provides better visibility for patients as defined by the practice.
In our 24.120 release we further enhanced the patient header to prevent the unintentional activation of the Patient Header tool-tip, we have refined the cursor sensitivity and improved the tool-tip's display position across OfficeEMR, making it easier to close. In iScheduler, we've also enlarged the search icon and drop-down buttons for improved accessibility during patient searches. Additionally, a new user setting has been introduced, allowing users to disable the Patient Header tool-tip if desired.
By default the OfficeEMR Patient Header in the EMR, iScheduler, and eDocuments has a tool-tip popup that displays when the user hovers over the text of the patient header. For added customer satisfaction the 24.120 Release provides practice users with the ability to turn off this header tool-tip.
Users would access their user setting and then search for the User Setting: Patient Header Tool-tip Display and then uncheck the Display checkbox to turn off the EMR, iScheduler, and eDocuments patient header tool-tip popup. Note: It may be necessary for the user may to use the Reset Window tool to get the new setting to take place in one of the portal screens.
