Setting Practice Aging Parameters

The parameters of this report are divided into filters and display settings. To set up parameters and run the report, perform the following steps:

  1. Set the report parameters.


    1. Date Type: Users can select whether they would like to view Charges by Service Dates or Post Dates. 
    2. Start Month / Start Year: Here users can designate the first month whose numbers will be shown on the report. 
    3. # Months: Users can select how many months of financial data will be shown on the report. 
    4. Provider: If desired, this report can be filtered to a single Rendering Provider. 
    5. Location: If desired, this report can be filtered to a single service location.

  2. Set the display parameters. Here users can select which types of data they would like to show on the report results:



    1. Total Charges: Charges from the selected time period. Must be selected for many other options to become available. 
    2. Deposits/Adjustments: Payments made during the selected time period.
    3. Collection Rates: Shows a Gross Collections rate for each month, dividing Total Payments by the Total Charges.
    4. Claim Totals: Shows the claims reflected in the Charges row, broken down by current state. 
    5. Encounter Totals: Shows the encounters reflected in the Charges row, broken down by current state. 
    6. Procedure Totals: Show the number of procedures reflected in the Charges row, broken down by current state.
    7. Total Payments: Shows the total payments posted against the Charges shown for each month. 
    8. Total Adjustments: Shows the total adjustments posted against the Charges shown for each month. 
    9. Total Remaining Balances: Calculated by taking Total Charges and subtracting Total Payments and Total Adjustments rows. This will show how much of the original Charges remain as receivables on claims.
    10. Financial Classes: If selected, rather than showing total Insurance Payments, Adjustments, Deposits, and Deposit Adjustments, users will see these values broken out by insurance class.

  3. Click the Search button to run the report.
